CSR Policy Independent Energy

Independent Energy contributes to society in the first instance by its services, delivering off- and on grid solar
systems. In this way an alternative is provided to generate energy, with low carbon and soot emissions. This is
not only important with an eye on prevention of climate change, but also to the prevention of respiratory
problems, noise and promotion of independency to people.
With our solar systems we provide, among others, an alternative to diesel generators. These diesel generators
continue to use fuel, while solar systems, after installation, only require sun that is everywhere and freely
available.
Additionally, we are focussed on a good balance among the people, planet and prosperity dimensions of our
operations and the operations of our business partners, as well as of our interactions with our stakeholders.
We endorse the principles of the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guidelines
for Multinational Enterprises, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Fundamental Labour Rights and
United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
In this framework we are aiming for the following main CSR objectives in the period 2021-2025:

.
Ø A reduction in the carbon emissions of our operations between 2021 and 2025 with at least 10%; and
to be carbon neutral in 2025.
Ø Availability of personal development plans in cooperation with our employees from 2022.
Ø CSR Code of Conduct for Business Partners signed by all our strategic business partners from 2022
